Medical Tourism in India for Bangladesh patients

Today’s India offers World Class Medical Facilities, comparable with any of the western countries. India has state of the art Hospitals and the best qualified doctors. With the best infrastructure, the best possible Medical facilities, accompanied with the most competitive prices, you can get the treatment done in India at the lowest charges.

Patients from around the globe are beginning to realize the enormous potential of modern and traditional Indian medicine. Indian hospitals, medical establishments and the government of India have also realized the potential of this niche segment and have begun to tailor their services for foreign visitors. International marketing divisions have been set up by most of the top India Hospitals like Apollo, Max, Fortis, Wockhardt, etc.

In India any type of surgery is very economical and affordable. A few months back a 35 years old Bangladesh native Mr Masud Akhtar from Dhaka gets his successful total hip replacement done from a hospital at Delhi. In some unfortunate accident he had a problem in the hip joints. His condition was not at all good, he could not walk around freely and had to take help of the wheel chair to move from one place to other. He was very confused about the treatment because of the unavailability of good treatment facilities in Bangladesh and the high expense of such surgical treatment in U.S. and U.K. hospitals.

The main problem for Mr Akhtar was that the cost of surgery in abroad is very high which was not affordable for him and he wished to live his life fully standing on his own feet without any support so he decided to get his treatment done from Indian hospital. He mail us India4health.com with all his medical reports and documents.

Initially he was a little apprehensive but once I landed at the hospital, the experience turned out really well. Once he landed India we arranges for Travel, medical treatment, hospitalization, stay in India.

The doctors in Delhi Hoshipal explained him about the surgery and its procedure.

A total hip replacement also called a hip arthroplasty- is an advanced surgical procedure that re-structures the hip joint region. Under this procedure the head of the femur (the bone that extends from the hip to the knee) is removed along with the surface layer of the socket in the pelvis (the two large bones that rest on the lower limbs and support the spinal column). The head of the femur bone, which is situated within the pelvis socket, is replaced with a metal ball and stem. This stem fits into the shaft of the femur. This socket is then replaced with a plastic or a metal and plastic cup. Hip replacement is indicated where conservative management has failed.

The surgical procedure: At the time of surgery, once the hip joint is exposed, the head and neck of the femur are removed. The shaft of the femur is then adjusted to accept the metal component consisting of the head, neck, and stem. After fixing the plastic cup the ball and socket are then replaced into normal position. Both of these implants can be fastened into the bone with or without using the special cement.

Cemented procedure : The cemented procedure utilizes a doughy substance mixed at the time of surgery that is introduced between the artificial component and the bone. This type of fixation in total hips remains the gold standard and is the method of choice for many surgeons. Depending upon their health and bone density, people over the age of 60 will receive this type of joint fixation.

Noncemented procedure: Despite its common use, not all individuals are candidates for a cemented hip. Studies show that young active adults tend to loosen their artificial components prematurely. The current trend therefore, is to use an artificial joint covered with a material that allows bone tissue to grow into the metal. A tight bond of scar tissue if formed, which anchors the metal to the bone. This is called a cementless total hip replacement. Apollo Hospitals, Max Healthcare and Fortis Hospitals specialise in these kind of treatment.

He was recommended for Noncemented procedure. A few weeks after his surgery he returned to his country. Now he is completly fit and has returned to his normal life. He is happy on the decision that he made.

Heart Bypass Surgery in India

Mr Lizl telling his experience his Heart Bypass Sergery in India. He lived in Ogun State in South-western Nigeria. He came to India for his Heart Bypass Sergery.

Initially he was suffering from a chest pain and as time passed it becomed much more severe. He consulted the cardiologist and he did some test on him and then came to the conclusion that he had a blockage in the coronary artery of his heart. The doctor suggested him for a bypass surgery as the condition of the blockage was not good.

He decided to travel oversea for his surgery and contact India4health.com through a mail. Once he reached India we took care and help him to get his surgery done properly and smoothly. We helped him to arrange the treatment and stay in India. Initially he was a little apprehensive but once he landed at the hospital, the experience turned out really well. The very professional doctors and the infrastructure really impressive him.

The cardiologist briefly explained him the surgery procedure.
Heart Bypass Surgery known as the coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) is the surgical treatment for coronary artery disease (CAD). It is a safe procedure that is mostly performed for treating Coronary artery disease(CAD). Coronary artery disease is due to the hardening and narrowing(atherosclerosis) of the coronary arteries.Actually the arteries that bring blood to the heart muscle (coronary arteries) can become clogged by plaque (a buildup of fat, cholesterol and other substances). This can slow or stop oxygen-rich blood to flow through the heart’s blood vessels. If left untreated, this may lead to chest pain and a heart attack.

Coronary Bypass Surgery is a way to treat these blocked heart arteries by creating new passages for blood to flow to your heart muscle. In this process a surgeon uses a segment of a healthy blood vessel (either an artery or vein) from another part of the body (called grafts) and uses it to create a detour or bypass around the blocked portion of the coronary artery. As a result, oxygen-rich blood can flow more freely to nourish the heart muscle. This surgery is usually performed with the heart stopped, necessitating the usage of cardiopulmonary bypass; techniques are available to perform CABG on a beating heart, so-called “off-pump” surgery.Depending on the number of blocked coronary arteries, a patient may need one, two, three or more bypasses.

They explained him Why the Procedure is needed to be Performed?

Coronary arteries are the small blood vessels that supply your heart with oxygen and nutrients that are carried in your blood. When one or more of the coronary arteries becomes partly or totally blocked, heart does not get enough blood. This is called ischemic heart disease or coronary artery disease. It can cause chest pain (angina). Coronary artery bypass surgery can be used to treat coronary artery disease. Your doctor may have tried to treat you with medicines only. You may have also tried cardiac rehabilitation. Coronary artery disease varies a lot from person to person, so the way it is diagnosed and treated will also vary. Heart bypass surgery is just one treatment. It will be right for some people, but others may have other kinds of treatment.

The doctors suggested him for ByPass Surgery. His surgery was done by expert surgeons and it is totally successful. After the operation he had a groggy and disoriented feeling but it went away in few days. There was little pain in the sites of incisions that is both the chest and the leg(as his segment of blood vessel was taken from the leg) but Painkillers was given to relive him. He was discharged from the hospital within five days. In this period, tests were conducted on him to assess and monitor his condition.

YOGA IN INDIA

The word “yoga” is derived from the Sanskrit word “yuj” meaning to join, or to yoke, or to bind. The very word radiates peace and tranquility.Spiritually this implies the union of the individual consciousness with the universal consciousness or the Universal Spirit. On the more practical level, yoga is a means for balancing and harmonizing the body, mind and emotions.

Yoga originated thousands of years ago in India. Probably 26,000 years ago, during the period of the ‘Sat Yuga’, also called the Golden age,Yoga evolved in India .With the discovery of the Indus- valley civilization, the largest civilization, that knowledge about the origin of Yoga came into light. Excavations give evidence of yoga’s existence during this period.

The ancient yogis had a profound understanding of human beings’ true nature and their need to live in harmony with themselves and their environment. These yogis conceptually framed human body as a vehicle, here the mind is the driver, true identity is the soul , and action, emotion and intelligence are the three forces, which drive this vehicle. Keeping this relationship in mind, the yogis devised an eight-fold path to maintain this balance. Yoga postures (or “asanas”), breathing techniques (or “pranayama”) and mediation (or “dhyana”) form a part of this eight-fold path that help you discover your inner peace. The most familiar and practical starting point for yoga is with the outermost part of the personality – the physical body. When imbalances occur at this level, the body is prone to disease, because the endocrine system will become irregular and inefficient. Thus, yoga aims to bring all the systems of the body into perfect coordination. Once the physical body is taken care of, it is possible to move to the mental and emotional levels. Yoga offers a proven method to cope with the stresses and strains of everyday life.

Benefits of Yoga

At the physical level, yoga and its cleansing practices have proven to be extremely effective for various disorders. More importantly, yoga is extremely effective in….

1.Increasing Flexibility of various joints of the body.
2.Increasing lubrication of the joints, ligaments and tendons.
3.Massaging of ALL Organs of the Body including the internal glands and organs of the body(such as the prostate) in a thorough manner.
4.Complete Detoxification-By gently stretching muscles and joints as well as massaging the various organs, yoga ensures the optimum blood supply to various parts of the body. This helps in the flushing out of toxins from every nook and cranny as well as providing nourishment up to the last point. This leads to benefits such as delayed aging, energy and a remarkable zest for life.
5.Excellent toning of the muscles.

Effect of Yoga on some chronic diseases like..

Asthma :-A study of 46 adolescents with asthma found that yoga practice resulted in a significant increase in pulmonary function and exercise capacity and led to fewer symptoms and medications.
Respiration Problems – Bronchitis and Emphysema:-A significantly greater number of patients reported that with the help of yogic breathing exercises, they could control an attack of severe shortness of breath without having to seek medical help.
High Blood Pressure:-A combination of biofeedback and yogic breathing and relaxation techniques has been found to lower blood pressure and reduce the need for high blood pressure medication in people suffering from high blood pressure.
Pain Management:- Breathing exercises used in yoga can also reduce pain.
Back Pain :-Yoga has consistently been used to cure and prevent back pain by enhancing strength and flexibility.
Obesity:- By regular practice of Yoga too much fat can be reduced.

India has been the center of attraction to the foreigners for several year for it wide knowledge of Yoga. Patients from around the globe visit India with there chronic diseases to heal it simply through asanas and breathing techniques of Yoga.

Orthopedic treatment in India

India offers World Class Medical Facilities, comparable with any of the western countries. India has state of the art Hospitals and the best qualified doctors. With the best infrastructure, the best possible Medical facilities, accompanied with the most competitive prices, you can get the treatment done in India at the lowest charges. Some common procedures for which international patient often travel to India are:

A total hip replacement: – also called a hip arthroplasty- is an advanced surgical procedure that re-structures the hip joint region.

Worldwide, more than 1 million hips are replaced annually. With careful patient selection and meticulous surgical technique, good long term results occur in over 90% of cases.

A few top Medical tourism providers are Asiahealth, MalaysiaMediTravel, Indiaheals., Medical Travel to India are helping the hospitals in this task.

Knee Replacement surgery:- The knee in the human body is a hinge joint involving the thigh bone and the shin bone. Knee replacement surgery is a technique that removes a diseased knee joint and replaces it with an artificial joint (prosthesis). One of the most common reasons for this operation is severe osteoarthritis, which causes relentless pain, joint deformity and mobility problems. Knee replacement surgery is known as ‘total knee arthroplasty’.

A unicompartmental knee replacement is at times used instead of a total knee replacement. This is when only one side of the knee has been damaged by osteoarthritis. Unicompartmental knee replacements involve smaller incisions, reduced bleeding, quicker recovery, and less bone loss than a total knee replacement.

Knee replacement surgery procedure: During a knee replacement surgery, the bone and cartilage on the end of the thigh bone (femur) and top of the shin bone (tibia) are removed. This is performed using precision instruments to create exact surfaces to fit the implant. A metal and plastic knee replacement implant is then fitted in to function as a new knee joint. Based on the condition of the cartilage on the undersurface of the kneecap, this may also have to be replaced. Indian hospitals provide you world class medical treatment at very competitive costs.

DENTAL TREATMENT IN INDIA

Today’s India offers World Class Medical Facilities, comparable with any of the western countries. India has state of the art Hospitals and the best qualified doctors. With the best infrastructure, the best possible Medical facilities, accompanied with the most competitive prices, you can get the treatment done in India at the lowest charges.

India as a global medical tourism destination, it could capitalise on the low-cost, high-quality medical care available in the country. India, touted as one of the favorite destinations for information technology majors, is currently emerging as the chosen destination for medical or health tourism. The Government of India, State tourism boards, travel agents, tour operators, hotel companies and private sector hospitals are exploring the medical tourism industry for tremendous opportunities. They are seeking to capitalise on the opportunities by combining the country’s popular leisure tourism with medical tourism.

When it comes to Dental Treatment, it is most expensive in any western countries like US or UK. Patients from these countries visit India to have their Dental Treatment done at a very reasonable affortable cost. Here the dentist are well-experienced and highly qualified English speaking with extensive international qualifications. You get the right diagnosis and proper care and well equipped treatment in a comparative low price.

Some of the Dental treatment that are taken care of are

Dental Caps / Dental Crowns
Dental caps, more correctly known as Dental Crowns, are used by dentists to cover the entire tooth as opposed to fillings which are used to patch holes in teeth. A filling fills a part of the tooth whereas a cap covers the whole tooth.Caps are predesigned custom made covers so as to protect root systems that have become exposed due to decayed, diseased, or injured teeth. Caps can be made of metal, porcelain or plastic, with porcelain being the most expensive, but most durable. They are the most important part of a cosmetic surgery used to beautify existing teeth that don’t suffer from any serious complications.

Dental Bonding
It is also known as composite bonding or tooth bonding. It is one of the excellent way to fix cosmetic and structural imperfections in your teeth. Dental bonding can repair cracked, chipped, and discolored teeth along with replace silver amalgam fillings. Dental bonding is a procedure in which a tooth-colored resin material (a durable plastic material) is applied and hardened with a special light, which ultimately “bonds” the material to the tooth . Cosmetic bonding can also repair misaligned teeth and provide you a straighter and more uniform smile. One can draw a parallel between dental bonding materials and a sculptor’s clay. By using dental composite resin bonding your dentist can restore chipped or broken teeth, fill in gaps and reshape or recolor your smile.

Dental Implants
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is placed into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implants are an ideal option for people in good general oral health who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, failure of endodontics, an injury, or some other reason.Dental implants are actually more tooth saving than traditional bridgework, since implants do not rely on neighboring teeth for support. Treatment with a dental implant involves placing implants in areas where there are no teethand by so doing, the bone area is stimulated again and this prevents long term bone loss in that area. If a bridge that connects two teeth is used instead of a dental implant, pressure is not applied on the jaw bone! Therefore the bone is not stimulated and begins to shrink away. Conclusion – dental implants preserve the underlying jawbone.

Dentures for Missing Teeth
Dentures are the best alternative for the missing teeth. They are false teeth made of acrylic resin sometimes in combination with various metals. They are used as removable replacements for missing teeth. Dentures can be complete or partial. Complete dentures replace all the teeth that covers your entire upper or lower jaw, while a partial denture are used when only a few teeth are missing and to fill in the spaces created by missing teeth so as to prevent other teeth from changing position.

Root Canals
root canal is the space within the root of a tooth. It is part of a naturally occurring space within a tooth that consists of the pulp chamber. “Root canal” is the term used to describe the natural cavity within the center of the tooth. The pulp or pulp chamber is the soft area within the root canal. The tooth’s nerve lies within the root canal. The dental pulp is the tissue which forms the dentin portion of the tooth. When the tiny canals are infected by bacteria the pulp present inside the tooth is infected and the tooth pains. The procedure of removal of this diseased pulp is known as root canal as the procedure undergoes a treatment till the root canal of the tooth.A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form.

Teeth whitening
Stained and discolored teeth look ugly and affect your appearance and personality. Teeth whitening can help you get back your naturally white sparkling teeth. Teeth whitening removes the stains and debris, leaving the enamel cracks open and exposed. Some of these cracks are quickly re-mineralized by saliva, while others rare filled up again with organic debris. Dental bleaching, also known as tooth whitening, is a common procedure in general dentistry but most especially in the field of cosmetic dentistry. Teeth whitening procedures are performed in the dental office or can be performed at home. Whitening the teeth 2-3 shades can make a significant difference in a persons smile.

Some other dental treatments like teeth Fillings are also taken care of.

Medical Tourism in India is being offered by India4Health, IndiaHeals, Medical tourism singapore, they arrange for Travel, medical treatment, hospitalization, stay in India.
Visitors, especially from the United States of America, United Kingdom and the middle-east find Indian hospitals a very affordable and viable option to coping with insurance and National medical systems in their respective countries. Travelers prefer to combine their medical treatments with a visit to the ‘exotic east’ with their families, visiting places like the Taj Mahal in Agra, the palaces in Rajasthan, the serene beaches in Goa and the mountains of Kashmir and the backwaters of Kerela among others. The total price of an overseas treatment with airfare, hotel accommodation and even a few days of vacation is often far less than just the procedure cost back in the US or UK

Dental treatment in India

Maybe you hide your smile because of spaces from lost teeth. Perhaps your dentures don’t feel secure and you have difficulty chewing. If you are missing one or more teeth and would like to smile, speak and eat again with comfort and confidence, Dental implants along with artificial teeth are often good options to fill up the gaps left by tooth loss. Lots of people came across the fact that dental implants are more at ease, efficient and safe than are dentures or bridgework. An artificial tooth root replacement used that are used to counter tooth loss is what is known as DENTAL IMPLANT. Whether you are a young, middle-aged or older adult; whether you require replacing one tooth, a number of teeth, or all your teeth, there is a dental implant solution for you. With the exception of growing children, dental implants are the solution of choice for people of all ages.

In 1952, the first dental implants were developed and ever since then technology has taken leaps and bounds to give us the most contemporary way out for missing teeth. The success rate for implants is remarkable: 98 percent for lower implants and 91 percent for upper implants. With proper care (see below), implants can last a lifetime. A typical implant consists of a titanium screw (resembling a tooth root) with a roughened surface. This surface is treated either by plasma spraying, etching or sandblasting to increase the integration potential of the implant. An osteotomy or precision hole is carefully drilled into jawbone and the implant is installed in the osteotomy. During the placement of a dental implant the objective is to achieve a close contact between the outer surface of the implant and the surrounding bone tissue so that they can FUSE together (osseointegration) creating a stable support for the new teeth.

Before any implants are placed it is important for your dentist to assess the health of your teeth and gums, if there are any signs of gum disease or decay these must be treated first. On the first appointment a full mouth exam will be completed with entire medical and dental history. You will be given X-rays and maybe a CT scan, which will provide the dentist a good idea of your bone thickness, density, compactness and the shape of your jaw. Some best service providers for DENTAL IMPLANT in ASIA are Asiahealth, MalaysiaMediTravel, ThaiMediHealth, and Indiaheals. These organizations arrange for Travel, medical treatment, and hospitalization along with stay in India. The list of Indian top Hospitals includes Apollo, Fortis, Max Healthcare, Escorts, AIIMs, Wockhardt.

Experience of Denture in Thailand

I had a good experience getting a dental procedure done in thailand. Initially I was a little apprehensive but once I landed at the hospital, the experience turned out really well. The doctors were very professional and the infrastructure was impressive.

It might be due to age or tooth decay i had lost most of my teeth. It was very difficult for me to chew my foods properly and my facial appearance also changed not only that my speech also changed, making me appear older than what i was. It had a negative effects on your self-confidence. I was totally demoralized by my appearance and the way my speech sounded.

The dentists there helped me out of this problem. They suggested me for Complete Denture. They explained me in details that Dentures are the best alternative for the missing teeth.
There are two types of dentures Complete denture and Partial denture. When all your teeth are missing, a complete denture is used to replace them (your entire upper or lower jaw). Complete dentures are either “conventional” or “immediate.” Partial denture or overdenture is used if only a few teeth are needed to be replaced. Partial dentures can prevent your existing healthy teeth from shifting following tooth loss.

The procedure to get my missing teeth back was also very simple. In few appointment i looked different. It improved my chewing ability and my speech, and provided a support to my facial muscles. It greatly enhanced my facial appearance and smile.

I thank to ThaiMediHealth.com and they helped me arrange the treatment and stay in Thailand. Its been 7 months now and I look great. I wish the doctors and the staff success .

I must appreciate the government of Thailand have also realized the potential of this niche segment and have begun to tailor their services for foreign visitors.Today Thailand offers world class medical facilities, comparable with any of the western countries. Thailand has state of the art hospitals and the best qualified doctors. With the best infrastructure, the best possible medical facilities, accompanied with the most competitive prices, you can get the treatment done in Thailand at the lowest charges.

India as a medical tourism destination

The Indian Government is taking serious initiatives in this regards and plans to start overseas marketing of India as a medical tourism destination. The Medical tourism is a term coined which covers patients traveling across the globe for tourism purposes clubbing their requirements for treatment of acute illness, elective surgeries such as cardiology, hip replacement, knee replacement, etc. government of India is of the opinion that by marketing India as a global market, it could capitalize on the low-cost, high-quality medical care available in the country. India, touted as one of the favourite destinations for information technology majors, is currently emerging as the chosen destination for medical or health tourism. The Government of India, State tourism boards, travel agents, tour operators, hotel companies and private sector hospitals are exploring the medical tourism industry for tremendous opportunities. They are seeking to capitalise on the opportunities by combining the country’s popular leisure tourism with medical tourism. Industry projections?

Statistics estimate that the medical tourism industry in India is currently worth $333 million (Rs 1,500 crore) while a study by CII-McKinsey estimates that the country could well earn Rs 5,000-10,000 crore by the year 2012. The Indian medical tourism industry, growing at an annualised rate of 30 percent, caters to patients chiefly from the US, Europe and Africa. Although in its nascent stage, the industry is outpacing similar industries of other countries such as Greece, South Africa, Jordan, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore. In the year 2004, Approx 1,50,000 medical tourists have visited India. What makes it so attractive?

Primary is the cost factor. The medical costs in India are a fraction of the costs in the US/Europe. For instance, a heart surgery costs $6,000 in India as against $30,000 in the US. Similarly, a bone marrow transplant costs $26,000 in India as compared to $2,50,000 in the US. Foreign patients throng Indian hospitals to pass up the long waiting lists and queues in their native countries. The NHS patients in UK have to wait for months for Hip/Knee replacements surgery. Indian hospitals provide immediate attention to patients rather than asking them to wait for several months like in most western countries. India’s top notch private hospitals like Apollo, Fortis, Max HealthCare have gained international recognition for their state-of-the-art facilities and diagnostic centers besides unsurpassed technical skills. Their technology and procedures are state of the art and on par with hospitals in developed nations. Foreign patients can get attractive package deals including flights, transfers, hotels, treatment and post-operative vacation for their medical visits to India. India has some world class SPAs and Ayurvedic facilities which help recuperation and healing. Some Top India Hospitals Include Apollo, Fortis, Max Healthcare, Escorts, AIIMs, Wockhardt, etc. A few good Medical tourism providers are MedicalSingapore, ThaiMediHealth and Indiaheals.com , Malaysia medical. With time more and more visitors will flock to this part of the globe for their treatment and relaxation needs.
